Zen Cart Point-Of-Sale: Beta Testers Needed

October 31, 2010 by Administrator · Leave a Comment

Hello,  I am extremely sorry for the massive delay.  My plans were to release last April, however – I have been tied up with several other projects since around that time.  However, I will not necessarily disclose all the features for the Zen-Cart Point-Of-Sale system that my company has implemented, but I will lay out a few nice nuggets of information about the system.

The software works like an add-on module which is uploaded to your admin folder of your zen-cart installation.  The new listing will be under Customers in the Main Menu of your admin panel, and it will be simply called, “Point-Of-Sale”.  If you are one of the ones that actually use zen-cart for your brick and mortar store, then we have made accommodations for you with this software.  If you have previously been using the plugin for UPC codes, then you can simply use your scanner to add products to the customers cart during checkout.  Our software is capable of reading directly from that database table to add products to the cart.  However – if you still are running a store using Zen-Cart, then we have made a small administrative panel within the system, that will allow you to attach a UPC code to any of your existing products.

The checkout process is quick and simple.  You can either search for an existing customer to use during the checkout, or you can quickly create a customer, with a billing/shipping address.  Then you may use either UPC codes or our product lookup searchbar to find all the products you need to add to the cart quickly and simply.  The payment gateway for the system – we will release more information about that one week before the release of the BETA edition of the software.  All credit card information and other sensitive payment information is masked before being saved to the database, to avoid breaking PCI compliance laws.

All shipping modules are read during the process of loading the checkout form, so you can select any method that you have predefined within your system.  If for some reason a customization is needed for the shipping, totals, products, or quantities – then we have accommodated within the system, where you can declare a custom shipping charge, tax charge, subtotal charge, or grand total charge.  This will alleviate problems occurring with order totals during the checkout process.

With these features already completed, we have assembled a team of developers to begin debugging the BETA system for the next few weeks.  We understand that security is a very important issue when working with E-Commerce systems.  We are again very sorry for the extreme delay and we hope that you will be interested in being a BETA tester for our Zen-Cart Point-Of-Sale software which will be ready for release by November 30th, 2010.

Important Notice: All BETA testers will receive the software as a trial to test for themselves for 15 days.  After the 15 day trial has completed, the BETA tester will be able to receive a Full-Licensed copy of the software at a discounted rate that will be unavailable to all other interested users.

To sign-up to become a beta-tester, please email your information to [beta] [at] [intwebserver.com]

Thanks for all of your support.

We are currently undertaking a quick point-of-sale system that will run as a Visual Basic application for companies, small-business and other users that use the Zen Cart platform as an online ecommerce solution to take phone orders quickly and easily.  The integration of this software is currently using the Authorize.Net as the primary payment solution.  If you are interested in reserving your copy of the Zen Cart – Point-of-Sale system – please feel free to email me at:

Our projected release date for this software will be on May 1st 2010.  I look forward to providing anyone assistance with setting up their application, and I will also take requests on other things that you would like to see added to later versions.
